Finding Football Training Equipment That Protects And Lasts
Have you ever stopped to consider the importance of the football training equipment your child wears while playing the game? Your son (or daughter) may have the potential to be the best football player in your state… IF they have a passion for the game and a commitment to train hard, but it will count for nothing if they suffer serious injury because of poor quality football training equipment. Safety in football is more important then ever before because the intensity levels have risen. Most coaches and parents agree that ensuring the well being of the players by using the right training equipment for football is vital.
Kids & Youth Football Training Equipment
Parents are often very nervous about allowing their kids to play full contact sports. For some reason it seems to be a lot more dangerous than crossing the road or traveling in the bus to school. Of course it isn’t, it’s just that the contact can be seen. But you can’t wrap your kids up in bubble wrap all the time.
There is a certain level of safety achieved through the rules of the game, however, proper training and the right youth football training equipment are also factors in keeping injuries to a minimum. A good coach will know this and be able to ensure the right shoulder pads, football helmets and visors and various other pads are used for the right level of game and the right age groups. Football training equipment for kids is a simple calculation of risk against level of protection needed to reduce that risk.
Used Football training equipment
If you are on a tight budget it is possible to buy and use second hand cheap football
training equipment. But there are some limits, both on personal hygiene levels and safety levels. Personally there is some equipment I would never use second hand no matter how often it had been washed, if you know what I mean.
For example, you have to be very careful over helmets. This head gear will have taken a pounding over the games and if it has been dropped on concrete this is another risk of it being intrinsically compromised in its structure. But items such as should pads and inserts should be fine, just be sure to inspect them properly and know the provenance.
The Essential Items Of Football Training Equipment
For your personal protection, there are items of football training equipment that should be worn every game or training session where there is contact. If they are not provided by your team, then invest in the best you can afford.
A football helmet is the most important item and should be a snug fit. You don’t want any movement from side to side or along the horizontal plane of your child’s skull. It needs to be snug as it will form to your youngsters head as it warms up. Next comes good quality shoulder pads made for the position your child plays. For instance, a lineman’s pads are a lot bigger than a quarterback’s shoulder pads. Also protect your child’s teeth with a good quality mouth guard molded to their teeth and a cup is a must for the males out there.
This is by no means a complete list of training equipment your son (or daughter) will need, but merely an illustration of the care you need to take. Football training equipment should keep your child safe and comfortable and allow them to enjoy the sport to the max.
